Pamela Perron, LMT
“I love my work first and foremost because of the people with whom I interact. Each client brings a unique mixture of their work, hobbies, family, and more, and I am fascinated by how all of that affects the tissues of the body. I love being able to listen to each person’s body and hear what it has to say about that person’s experience and current state.
“And I bring to my work a background [B.S.] in special education and a 20-year span of experience working with adults with disabilities, which brings a sensitivity to special needs and the drive to personalize each massage for each client; I also bring a deep love for the outdoors and nature, which perhaps informs my tendency to listen to the body’s energy. I just recently got certified in the Japanese stress reduction technique, Reiki, which has enhanced my ability to listen to each body, and I look forward to integrating this into my massages when needed.”
Pam (PA LMT #MSG010444) has had a passion for caring for other people for as long as she can remember. Motivated by her bond with her younger brother who has autism, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Marywood University in Scranton, PA and has spent 19 years with L’Arche Erie, a faith community where she assisted people with developmental disabilities. Her years in L’Arche have given Pam a lot of experience with a variety of medical conditions and behavioral challenges, but also allowed her to witness the healing power of touch. She now offers that healing touch to a variety of clients through therapeutic massage.
Pam studied massage therapy at Great Lakes Institute of Technology in Erie, PA, graduating with honors. She has completed additional training in deep tissue work in order to meet the needs of clients healing from injuries or seeking relief from pain. She also very much enjoys Swedish massage, hot stones, aromatherapy, and reflexology. She loves to keep learning and looks forward to adding more skills to her repertoire.
In her free time, Pam is an avid hiker and loves spending time outdoors.
