We are all generalists and specialists

A woman face down on a table while having her back massaged.

It can get confusing. We often emphasize what each of our massage therapists is particularly good at and for good reason: we want you to know that we can take care of you no matter what’s going on. We want you to know that’s why we have a whole team.

Each of our massage therapists starts out, first and foremost, as an excellent generalist, and over time, with practice and experience, they find something they’re extra good at and they develop specific skills around that. Thus they come into their speciality with maturity as LMTs.

But again, they all start out as and remain excellent generalists. What does that mean? We guarantee that each of our therapists has education in and experience with the following types of massage that are typical:

Deep Tissue Massage

Utilizing a mixture of light to deep pressure helps alleviate muscle tension and pain. Enjoy the reduction of pain and symptoms of back conditions, headaches and other body constraints.

Swedish (Relaxation) Massage

A treatment designed to energize or relax the body with gentle, flowing massage strokes used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. Benefits include relaxation, daily stress relief, muscle toning, dissolution of scar tissue, and improved circulation which may speed healing and reduce swelling from injury.

“Just” a Massage

Unsure which style of massage you would prefer? Decide on the length of service you want and we can experiment with which massage (or combination of massage techniques) is best for you. Massage may include a combination of Swedish (Relaxation), Deep Tissue, & Reflexology.

Specialists

And on top of those general skills, each of our therapists has an area of expertise.

We encourage you to find the right fit for your current issue. Meaning: perhaps you have someone here you’ve been going to for years. You feel a certain kind of loyalty, and we appreciate that. But perhaps you have a new injury or something unusual going on? Look around…which of our therapists specializes in that?

You can even ask your current therapist, and we promise they won’t be offended. They also want what’s best for you.

Here’s an overview of each therapist and their specialty:

Maggie Comstock: As a dedicated practitioner of Gua Sha, a Reiki master, and a certified yoga instructor, Maggie harmoniously blends holistic approaches into her practice.

Ryan Logan: If you’re unsure of what’s going on or where it’s stemming from, with intuitive hands, Ryan can find that place in your body that you didn’t know was the problem.

Carl Holmes: Carl is our expert when it comes to people who need extra deep work due to injury or issues that stem from their physical activities. And he’s extra amazing when it comes to shoulders, back and low back (QL area).

Tammy Moon: Therapeutic massage is Tammy’s favorite and she’s bringing gua sha into massage in unique ways.

Pamela Perron: Specializing in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Pam does MLD predominately for people post plastic surgery and post cancer treatments. She also offers MLD to people suffering from many other conditions, including allergies and nasal issues, the very thing for which it was first developed.

Missy Schmalenbach: With a passion for therapeutic massage, Missy specializes in pain relief and pregnancy massage.

Abby Weech: We like to call Abby our detective. If you’re having a pain issue and no one has been able to figure out, she will.

Jo Hodges: Specializing in upper body work, Jo digs deeply into any tension in the shoulders and neck. She also focuses on foot and calf pain relief.

Erin VanGorder: Getting to the root of your problem is Erin’s specialty. She is a great listener with a huge heart for people. Erin can easily adapt from light pressure to deep, depending on what you need and want.

If you have an issue and aren’t sure which of our therapists would be best, again, just ask. Someone on our team is sure to have the answer.
